Your guide will take you on a discovery of the city centre of Palermo, showing you some of the artistic and cultural beauties of the Arab and Norman periods.
Departure is at 9:00 from Piazza Vincenzo Bellini, where the tour will begin with a tour of the Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio and San Cataldo churches. You will then head to the imposing Palermo cathedral, constructed in 1185, and the fascinating San Giovanni degli Eremiti church, famous for its red domes and the surrounding green vegetation. Once at Piazza Indipendenza you will discover the Royal Palace and, within, the greatest Arab-Norman jewel: the Palatine Chapel, dedicated to Saint Peter the apostle and famous throughout the world for its incredible Byzantine mosaics and the bewitching atmosphere it creates as one enters. The tour will end at Piazza Bellini.
