An exclusive Jeep tour on Mt. Etna brings together adventure and exclusivity. During this private tour: you will not be required to share the jeep with other tourists and your driver will ensure that the trip is tailored to your personal interests. You will also have the chance to go trekking along one of the paths of the volcano.

At booking, you will be able to choose between a tour lasting a half-day or a full-day.

Half-Day
This adventure begins with a pick-up by Jeep from your lodgings in Catania or in a neighboring municipality. You will pass through the villages that dot the landscape surrounding the highest volcano in Europe, you'll then visit the extinct craters at an altitude of 1900mt. From here you will continue to an ancient lavic hole, from which you will admire the Bove Valley, the vast basin on the Eastern side of Mt. Etna. You will then visit a lava cave, once used as a sacred space and burial grounds. Following you will see the lava flow of 1991-1993, caused by one of the longest eruptions in recent history. This will be followed by a visit to a local business to taste their honey and local products.

You may choose to partake in this excursion in the morning or at sunset!

Full-Day

During the full-day tour, beyond all the attractions of the half-day tour, you will also have an afternoon visit to the Gorges of Alcantara to discover their story and admire their beauty. The Gorges of Alcantara are a formation of volcanic basalt eroded and sculpted by the river over the course of millenniums into a channel approximately 6 km long and 5 km wide. You will be entranced by the fascinating light reflections from the water onto the walls of black lava stone!
Schedule: from 8:30 to 17:00

Pick-up: included, from Catania and neighboring municipalities. It is also possible to schedule a pick-up service from Taormina (at an extra cost). The tour is in a private Jeep, with a driver at your disposal. Each Jeep can accommodate up to 6 people (not including the driver).

Lunch: at the time of booking, only available for the full-day tour, you can also reserve lunch in one of the Etna lodges at an extra cost.

When booking, if you wish, you may resrve lunch in the refuge at an extra cost (for full day tours only). You will enjoy a lunch based on typical local products (an appetizer, first course, dessert and coffee, water and wine).

To make a reservation a prepayment of the total amount is required. Once the booking is complete you will be contacted to coordinate a pick-up point.

In the case of adverse weather conditions which do not allow for the carrying out of the tour, you will be able to arrange another date directly with the organiser. If another date is not possible, you will be reimbursed the amount already paid.
