The ascent to the summit craters of Mount Etna is one of the most coveted excursions an aspiring hikers can make. 
You will be accompanied by an authorised alpine and volcano guide, with whom you will marvel at the beauty and wonder of the highest active volcano in Europe, at 3,00m asl. 

Departing from Sapienza Refuge, in Nicolosi, the cable car will take you up to 2,504m asl. From here you will continue in trekking in order to reach the maximum altitude reachable of 3,000m. Carried out a long pause near the craters, you will descend in direction of 2002 craters and before heading up again in cable car to the departure point (Sapienza Refuge).

Duration: 6/7 hours (depends on the rhythm of the group).

The availability of the excursion and reaching 3340 meters depends on weather conditions and volcanic activity. If these conditions are not good, the guide may decide an alternative route.
Excursion is absolutely prohibited to people who have heart problems and asthmatics.
